This is sososo important. Makes me really want to pay more attention to strangers and always be looking for signs of someone needing help or love or a caring gesture. I hope to god the two men have justice served to them. Someone needs to pick up this case!!!

Wow… I not only cannot imagine going through this but also am more appalled on what has happened since. It makes me want to lose my mind! I need to stay in the loop with this, I will be following along and helping in any and all ways I can! Can we get an update? any additional information on how to help as it progresses? Chantelle you are so strong, I will be reaching out to help your movement!

WOW! Thank you soooo much for you sharing her story but more importantly thank you Chantelle for not giving up your fight!! I hope she reads all of these thankful comments and sees where this story is being seen. I almost believe that if we make a big deal out of it, there could be a Netflix documentary of it—and possibly force justice out of the system. Personally I wonder what her original chronic illness was and if that possibly played a part in either the attack or recovery. Side note: NEVER going backpacking alone… maybe if desperate enough and… Read more »

I appreciate the trigger warning cause that allowed me to prepare to bawl my eyes out. As a rape survivor myself this had me in tears. I can’t imagine what she went through. I cried the whole hour and 42 minutes. Thank you guys for sharing her story. She’s a warrior ❤️

Chantelle, thank you for sharing your story with us <3 my heart breaks for you and all survivors. i wish there was something i could do to help, because its so frustrating to hear, time and time again, how our system has failed to protect and get justice for survivors of rape and sexual assault. to bekah & jess, i applaud you for continuing to use your platform to lift people up and shed light on important topics. i admire both of you so much.

This was an unbelievable story. As not only a trauma survivor myself but also a trauma therapist, I can't even begin to tell you how hard this must have been for Chantelle to speak about. As hard as it was to hear, her bravery & courage in sharing her story to educate others is to be applauded. I can understand what she's saying too about how, in a way, it's harder to live the aftermath. People with trauma are some of the strongest, resourceful, and most resilient people I have ever met. I pray for her going forward and thank… Read more »

I'm a European living in the states. Although normally medical attention is logical and emmediate, every nonsensical detail of the medical attention she received is outrageous, not normal, and think it must have been due to being in a rural area. Absolutely horrific, I am so sorry.
