Constructive criticism: would be nice with some formal introduction to the topic. I'm here out of curiosity and find it hard to click with what you say when I'm thrown in the deep end.

Great framing of Mexico in broad strokes and tying everything together.

Amlo has been a horrible leader, hes the reason why you should never instate direct democracy when implementing key policy decisions

There is having to exist within the reality one finds oneself, and I wholeheartedly appreciate that; however, then there is initiating deleterious acts of your own making: AMLO has been been guilty of the latter – the Maya train project, deploying the Guardia Nacional to clamp down on refugee migration, & his backing of anti-protest laws at the behest of extractive firms. He, like all dissenting LatAm leaders, has to operate within a dangerous and restricting reality; but like his peers, he's also been guilty of being the architect of his own defamation.

AMLO needs his version of Stephanie Kelton or Pavlina Tcherneva to help him see the benefits of deficit spending in order to address slack and tap into the potential of Mexican labor.

There is no doubt that there is a deliberate attempt from US media to either paint AMLO in a bad light or ignore him altogether. It would be great if you could somehow interview JOHN ACKERMAN, a US professor who teaches at the UNAM in Mexico, he can really help shed light on Mexico's 4T revolution.

Jorge Ramos tried to red bait BERNIE in the September debate into calling Maduro a dictator. Bernie instead called him a tyrant and them Julian called him a dictator. Bernie did not fall for it and good for him. Jorge is a complete moron and a shill for the establishment and yes that even includes UNIVISION AND TELEMUNDO.

AOC has never commented on Venezuela and interesting enough I went on her twitter page to see who she follows and to my shock she has followed Juan Guiado and HILLARY Clinton.

AMLO would go so much further if he wasn't in constant danger of the US getting angry and imposing tariffs on Mexican goods, closing the border altogether, or worse. He's been forced – VERY SADLY – to crack down on immigration from the southern border of Mexico and the Mexican border officials have engaged in substantial human rights abuses with Central American migrants fleeing violence and mass poverty. WIth a President Sanders, he would have the breathing room to attempt far more radical measures to help the working class and obviously Bernie would support him in measures to improve the… Read more »

Thank you Michael Brooks for covering more about the unique Experiment that is going on in Mexico. My father and I are staunch leftists and the rest of my family members can’t stand AMLO. Many of them are from The PRI and a couple others are from the PAN. It’s a weird thing to see the animosity towards AMLO within the family but I also welcome it because now everyone is talking politics. I wouldn’t have had those kind of conversations with the PRI and Pan in power. Polarizing figures like Trump had this effect on me in the United… Read more »
