>so what's Bernies exact plan for X?
>unclear, I trust him, maby it's on his website?
I really hope this is an outlier and people look into policies instead of following brand names

ALSO – can someone please explain what is meant by "Decapitation model" which can't be the right word, since decapitation is the very opposite of "health care." 😉

Luis – the for-profit entities will still be interested in profit. The point is that our measurements will point government and government policy in the right direction. When we decide to subsidize an industry, we are making a bet that that industry is a net good. That's why we bailed out the banks in the economic crisis of 2008. Better measurements might have pointed us in a different direction. Just more ideas – thank you for doing this! 🙂

Another thing not heard so far, and should be mentioned in the pay model, is Yang's plan to expand provider access. As well, displaced health insurance workers with a UBI can transition easier into new fields.

It's always nice to see opponents behaving with civility. Government single payer is vulnerable to ineficiency and abuse leading to higher costs. Private multipayer is vulnerable to greed leading to higher costs. Either way, Will is right, the costs must be managed. Competition and well written, well enforced rules are necessary, but effective rules won't be achieved while corporations have tentacles in the government. Democracy dollars, term limits, rank choice voting, revolving door bans, increase in numbers of Supreme Court judges, and an end to gerrymandering must be accomplished before any successful implementation of universal health care. And any successful… Read more »

The key point is, without greatly reducing care costs, there will be not care. With care costs reduced and quality improved, we can then talk about Private vs Public vs Single Payer. One step single payer will lead to a gig bureaucratic / corrupted government, with all the fat corrupted politicians.

A public option is not medicare for all or universal healthcare. It is an insurance plan run by the government which you have to still pay for individually that competes with the private sector. So yes Yang and others who are pushing M4A or Universal Healthcare under their change are actually misleading. Bernie's plan guarantees healthcare for all no matter if you can pay for it or not and makes private insurance companies compete for subscription-based insurance plans which is what they don't want. Those subscriptions will be dietary, nutritional, cosmetic, personal training or physical therapist, and even pet insurance.… Read more »

Zero chance Medicare for all gets passed in less than 10 years if Bernie is elected. The costs of the public option with the inclusion of medicare advantage would be cheaper than the trillions of dollars lost every year when Americans without insurance go straight to the ER. Cutting costs is not even the point, it’s about changing incentives in medicine to focus on mental health, freedom from substance abuse and not loading up each patient with all the meds and surgeries possible to be able to bill the insurance companies.

Free Medicare and free college is taxing the people who let the government handle the money to give them free Healthcare. But once you give the money to the government, it goes everywhere but the sole purpose. Bernie want to tax the rich, but the rich hide their money lol! Bernie is too old to understand automation and how ordinary jobs are being replaced and computers and robots. Andrew Yang understands those issues and has solutions

Judging from this it would seem that like Bernie.. bernie fans are very dismissive of anyone that isn't Bernie.

You can’t force conservatives onto universal health care. Bernie will never be able to pass Medicare for all because he doesn’t understand compromise. Meghan Kelly gave an interview where she discusses the rights reaction to Obamacare being forced through. This is what Bernie supporters don’t get.

The colloquial use of disposable income bothers me as it is inaccurate terminology. Disposable income is the percentage of income spent on reoccurring expenses such taxes, a home mortgage, or a car payment. Where discretionary income is the percentage of an income remaining beyond one's disposable income, to be spent at one's discretion.

"Those people can just work for the government". That statement tells me that this Bernie supporter is really in a bubble. He is assuming that the 2.5 million (according to an article I read) that work for private insurance will ALL be needed as the process is streamlined to lower costs. In addition, will these folks have to move in order to get said government job? Bernie supporters from what I have seen are not too informed even on Bernie's policies. I have found that Yang Gang tend to be well versed on most of Yang's policies (they may differ… Read more »
