Dem Debate 3 Pissed Me Off

Andrew Yang didn’t get to talk about UBI at the third DemDebate because the topic of the 4th Industrial Revolution, AI, automation or the future of the vast majority of American workers NEVER CAME UP. Who cares about THAT when you can score cheap points by calling the President a racist?

They DID talk about healthcare, which is good, but only Yang identified the perverse incentive that makes healthcare ruinously expensive even for people with health insurance and completely inaccessible for those without it. It you don’t identify the root cause of your troubles, you can’t address them effectively.

For those of you who think we can’t afford to talk about how to insure that people can earn a living when there are crypto-white-supremacists to ferret out and denounce…

EAT A BAG OF DICKS

And for anyone who would correct my vocabulary, Caleb Strohl beat you to the punch with, “Random unimportant aside: plutocracy is rule by the rich. Oligarchy is rule by a small group.”

I totally agree with you about the debate in general, Yang’s performance when he actually got a chance, and so on. Speaking of Yang v. Sanders, specifically, the thing that keeps drawing me to sanders is his interest in having the discussion of ownership [of natural resources, production a la co-ops, and so on]. Yang falls short here in my view, as he calls the UBI a dividend which implies shared ownership of the country, but stops short of the deeper discussion – a discussion which will become more acute as AI and robotics advance.

You are pissed off at who??
I'm pissed off at ABC, nbc, msnbc, cnn, fox, cbs or the main stream media in general.
They are basically useless, covering Trump 100%.

I understood people are the product of their environment so I am cool with some racism. But I cannot stand those said they have experience racism and fighting it. But they are a racist themselves.

Hi KMO, I am wondering if you have read/watched anything by Robin DiAngelo? Videos I have watched recently: "What does it mean to be white in a society that proclaims race meaningless" or "Dr. Robin DiAngelo discusses 'White Fragility'" or "White Fragility by Dr. Robin DiAngelo". Interesting ideas if one watches while keeping and open mind and the ego in check. Thanks, Ben

I watched it til 05.00 in the morning (Amsterdam time) – it was torture. Democracy dollars are perhaps even more needed than UBI. MSM is a rigged game. Yang switched the arena to the internet. Smart move

Fantastic video. A lot of great stuff here. Random unimportant aside: plutocracy is rule by the rich. Oligarchy is rule by a small group. Oh and one other thing– do you use your twitter to promote this channel? I couldn't find you on twitter, and I'd like to promote you there if use your twitter for this purpose.

Ya the debate itself was pretty discouraging, but the internet activity surrounding the debate was rather ENcouraging. Despite stuff like NYT's ludicrous debate analysis, new media is fighting back. MSM and establishment are dying off. We may not be able to make things happen this election cycle, but I think it's only a matter of time before MSM dies off for good and we get a new wave of respectable media and hopefully politicians. This is me being overly optimistic, but fuck it– you're more likely to see the winning opportunities if you expect to win. Pessimism doesn't usually help… Read more »
