depends on the individual not really about race.

I always felt more safe living on base. You're right, it was like a big gated community with seriously armed security.

Is it racist to hate everyone? Not because of race just to hate them and make "racial" jokes? Because I make racial jokes about every race, no limits to where i'll go. but I don't hate peoples because of their race.

Good video! I love that you started the video with the definitions for racism. Keep making videos, bro. Theyre really insightful.

Here is my experience when it comes to this subject.

Yes, there is racism in the military (at least in the Marine Corps)….

HOWEVER, we all (well most of us) set our own shit aside because regardless of our political, social, religious views, to us, the Mission always comes first.

We as humans will never agree with everyone. We will never like everyone. There will always be people who we don't like for whatever reason. Be that reason race, gender, sexual orientation, religion.

Too bad we live in a world where anyone has to be in the military.

Lol military does offer a black person a reasonable opportunities. While there are morons and racist in the military, as long as you learn your craft and dont do anything stupid you can go far. Plus its safer for young black people in the military.

I'm a doctor and know of/suspect individuals to be racist, even at this level. There are racist people everywhere. Just do a good job at your job, put out love and respect for others, and ignore those people that dislike you. They don't pay your bills.

I don't know if it pertains to just black people. But being in the military in general, is such a varied & versatile job; that you'll be going to many far strange places and meeting so many different types of people that your bound to face some discrimination eventually in your career. That's just how it is for every job or asset that requires you to travel to many foreign locations. Not just for blacks but whites too.

Saying "don't join the military becuase it's racist" is kind of like saying don't fly in airplanes because terrorism exists. The number one cause of terrorism…. is people. So maybe instead of having a ban on liquids getting into airplanes we need to have a ban on people getting onto airplanes? The number one cause of racism…. is people. The only way to create a military that doesn't have racism in it would be to ban people from joining the military. Oh well… we're all gonna be replaced by robots some day anyway.

Id rather not die or kill for a country that doesn't care about me. My grandfather was in the military for over 20 years and told me stories about the bullshit he put up with, said all the traveling made it worth it though. 4 years of JROTC, 1 asshole as president, and my grandfathers suicide later and I think I can safely say any amount of patriotism has been thoroughly stomped out of me. But to just answer the question yes the military is very much for black folk, partially us youngsters because we'll be the very first to… Read more »

tbh i thought it wasnt really racists till i joined. It is racists man. You see it even more with older NCOs, SNCOs, and older high ranking officers. It made me think to myself its all government, were just uniformed government employees. Why did i join a system that oppresses my people? Conflicting thoughts like this have haunted me throughout my enlistment more and more. I will serve these last 2 years and i will leave and never look back.

It bothers me that racism turned in “white versus black” racism is all races. But being black (biracial), I’ve had to deal with it and it has unfortunately stopped me from doing certain things. So thank you for posting this video. On a different note, I was gonna ask if your dog had two more heads off camera, but at the end I saw that he didn’t. #HarryPotter

In my unit the 778th if your not black you WILL NOT get any awards or promoted. Racism should not be allowed in any service but remember it goes both ways

As far as I'm concerned, if you're a US citizen, you're not black, white, asian, mexican, or any other race: you're American.

Good commentary BJ. I wonder if you would expound on how you feel about the military from an ideological standpoint. Do you have complete trust in the purposes of the American powers that be? Do you ever feel reluctant or smbivalent when it comes your directives? Stevie Wonder wrote a very meaningful song treats ago called "Frontline". Does this resonate with you sometimes? I'm just curious.

First and foremost I would like to thank you for your service. I personally couldn't do what you all do and I don't care what the color of your skin is your a hero and that is for all military personnel. You guys do what us civilian s can't or won't do and anyone who deems the need to be rascist can burn in hell. Once again thank you for not only protecting my life, but my loved ones as well.

I grew up believing that the military is not for black people, until I learned that black Americans fought in every American war that shape
what America is today.
My friends and family who told me I don't belong in the military because it's the white man war,are the ones that wouldn't want live anywhere else.
