When they do come….they are going to be violently apprehending folks via martial law…who are only acting out of desperation…watch and see. Why not come now, while the people are still somewhat calm and rational???

Same thing here in Texas… The real help really came the other citizens, not the government, not the police, not the Red Cross…

It is tragic. It's an island in the Atlantic and hurricanes pass through there. Why weren't they prepared with stored up food, water, cash, and other NECESSITIES. In February of this year, 11 states were torched. Homes, business, schools, hospitals, farms, crops, cattle burned, killed, and destroyed. Then in March the floods came destroying crops, homes, business,…… Then the sudden freezes came destroying crops. Tornadoes, earthquakes, forest fires, landslides, more flooding, …… During and following Hurricane Irma and Maria, while water and food went to Florida and these islands, our grocery stores weren't stocked. We had to go without the… Read more »

Red tape how democrats rule the people

Randell Porter

As the Mayor of San Juan and the citizens of Puerto Ricco know, this island is saturated with cronyism, graft, and corruption. Consequently, the total brake down of civil order and command is the blowback of this wicked system. Sadly, the people of Puerto Rico are suffering much longer than necessary during this disaster recovery period. New Orleans after Katrina can related to this.

Re open the banks so people can get cash. Once people have cash the black market will distribute supplies more efficiently than the government.

All they think about is to migrate to usa but nobody speaks about doing anything for their island. Japanese people have another culture they stay and rebuild no matter what.

If you're doing a News Report on this Island , you can bring in provisions ?

Maria Elvira Posse

How about a ship full of provisions??? It can't be this difficult to distribute supplies.

If Puerto Rico were Hawaii, would our disaster relief be this disgusting?
These are United States citizens in an ally nation. Its about time the Vice President replaced the inadequacy currently occupying the nations highest office.

Owtlawz you are very misinformed, the reason the navy left vieques was because the US Navy was downsizing, not because of protest by the people of vieques. You are so stuck in your beliefs that it blinds you to the reality of our current situation. You actually believe that if the Navy was there they would have somehow blocked a hurricane from hitting the island or would have saved everyone. I see the little weak man that you are and feel sorry for you and people that think like you. I hope that someday the people of Puerto Rico look… Read more »

In 2012 Puerto Rican’s were asked to vote on whether or not they wanted statehood… the majority voted “YES!” …what happened??? Nothing…why not? Regan, Bush, and Obama all supported statehood for this, a commonwealth of the US. …It’s an abomination that the government is blaming our citizens there for the state of desperation they are in. These are Americans…who have fought in every war…and only 5 veterans from Puerto Rico were given the congressional Medal of Honor? They are responsible for the issues there?
