Your 5 year old child should not be on the roadway driving an electric scooter.

It honestly depends on how the jury sees it. My opinion is that people need to be better educated when obtaining conceal carry license and go through a class on laws by state and put them through scenarios so they can better judge the situation. No one knows at the end of the day unless we go through this situation. Very sad story.

He goes to jail when he pulled the gun the guy backed up. The fight was over.

I don’t think he’ll get off without some penalty or time

I wonder if the fact that it wasn’t his first altercation at this gas station will play a roll in the decision. He’s accosted other people before this shooting from what the news reported from the store owner.

I have degenerative disc disease, if Im pushed I cannot get back up quickly if at all, back completely freezes in spasms and I am defenseless. Without stand ground I'd be forced to crawl away before using force, would I have that much time? Hold up attacker, I need to crawl away before stopping your bodily harm to me. I predict a mistrial.

As a carrier you dont go looking for a problem, you defuse it the best you can without use of force unless its needed. I have been keeping up on this case because this is a close line between manslaughter and stand your ground. I personally think that it was manslaughter because the guy who pushed him backed off after he drew his firearm. People are too high strung these days to go looking for problems. My opinion they were all in the wrong.

Dude, he could have walked over took pictures and walked.
He's not sanction to make a parking spot a reason to use lethal force.
Regardless, in four seconds, one can cover ground on foot.
An athlete can cover 30 yards or more in Sprint. He didn't move forward. He stepped backward.
Markiese probably was driving and parked there.
The part you missed is suckers with cc are not police or law. Teach your kids some real stuff, we all dangerous.

People who do things like that makes it worst for the person who is trying to defend himself n fam. they don't understand the law so, us law bidding citizens we get the shaft.if you can't fight don't start take a pic and send it to P.D.

To many dumbass men white night for these women. He didn't fully know the situation and pushed some random dude down. What a dumbass and deserved what he got. He should of told his cunt chick to get her fat ass back in the car and move it. People follow the rules and laws and you should be ok. Don't be dumb.

This case had been on trial since the moment the media showed the video on tv. Some thought he was guilty others thought no way. These are the same people that are going to be on the jury. The evidence is going to have to be extremely compelling in order to change anyone's mind. It looked to me that the gentleman on the ground had at least minimal training to draw and fire no matter what, and that's what he did. Unless you're in that situation you'll never really know what you would do

Shooting after the battery..the push..I don't see it as self defense but retribution. I wish him luck

forgot to add when attacking michael Drejka, witness said Mr. McLaughlin yelled I going to Kill you MF. Might be a reason to believe you are in danger. Also Mr. McLaughlin has a record of attacks resulting in injury.

Everyone has Armchair quarterbacked this to death. Only Drejka's point of view of what happened to him MUST be considered. Dejka wasn;t watching the video Frame by Frame as it happened. Not saying he is innocent nor guilty…..but we cannot sit back in our chair, sipping our wine, watching this over and over and over and declare him guilty, because HE only have 3-4 seconds.

I love love love, being able to protect my life and family. Is this really what it is all about ?
Shove vs Gun is what it is.

If the Life lost had a gun, both would be dead for a parking spot.

Is that worth that ? That spot is still available. And it's not worth my life, or the next person's life.

He stated, "Hold my ground law", defense punked out because of video.

Defense is smarter than his position all day.

All speculation. No one knows what happened. To act as an officer and recite parking laws seems much to me. I imagine there was some heat. Doesn't justify necessarily. No win off two losses

Guns and violence…
This is it. Where we at. Civil war ? Funk that. I love family and my friends. I love life. Too short not to love it.

Let's get it for that 💪.

I watched the video of the shooting many times and I believe that the only reason the defendant was not attacked and seriously injured even more, was the display of the firearm. Should he have pulled the trigger? Only if Mr. McLaughlin continued his assault, which he did not. Is the defendant guilty of manslaughter? Not under the Stand Your Ground Law he isn't. He was in fear for his life and had no way to determine if he would be attacked again.
