What would change your life more, an extra $1,000 every month or an increase to a $15 minimum wage?

I'd rather get pay $12 an hour and still get Yang's $1000 a month.

Wouldn’t it be funny if joe Biden highjacked Yang’s UBI policy

Neither… There no such thing as a free lunch, kiddies.

Grow the hell up.

Quit looking to government to make your lives better.

Work harder.

Quit whining like a pussy.

Vote Trump in 2020.

Bernie Sanders and the rest of DNC candidates on 15/hr. proposal will NOT HELP the disabled workers, the homeless, the laid off workers due to automation, the gig(no benefits) workers(uber, doordash, lyft, amazon flex) and the retired Americans with low SS check. UBI covers everyone, it’s a SUPERIOR solution.

The Congressional Budget Office also just did a report on the $15 minimum wage topic. The Freedom Dividend is clearly the better idea.

I would love for either Yang or Sanders to get in….Bernie seems like a pretty open guy when it comes to doing what’s best for the people. I would think that he wouldn’t be against adopting UBI and bringing Yang on board , if willing. Both seem to have a strong, honest vigor with plans for making this country better. Yang/Sanders 2020 or Sanders/Yang 2020…I’ll take either….Single Payer Healthcare; UBI; and Student Loan Debt abolishment would change this country in immeasurable ways.

15 an hour is just favoring towards people that already has a job, people that are doing okay to barely okay. What it does not favor is those that are always jumping from jobs to jobs like temp work, scraping by people that can't work etc. In reality it's just fixing something that does no need fixing because the problem lies somewhere else. It's using an old method that cannot solve the problem of this century problem the problem I see here according to Yang is we are being pushed to the side by automation whether we like it or… Read more »

UBI breaks down to $6/hr. Outside of California, most states min wage is still $7-8.50/hr. I would guess a $6/hr UBI jump will still dramatically help those earning $7 hourly. Major diff is that UBI lifts everybody, not just lower income earners.

Minimum wage doesn't help those who do unrecognized work every day in our communities.

Andrew’s UBI will not be taxable like minimum wage. So it’s a straight forward $1000. Whereas if minimum wage is raised to $15, you still pay taxes.

Just did the math and if I as an 18 year old voter in 2020, get the freedom dividend until I die at the average life expectancy in america, then I’ll have received $707,000 from the federal government throughout my life, however I’d also like to mention that there are over 200 million adults living in America and if they all receive the dividend then that’s 200 billion dollars a year straight out of the government.

The small business won't be able to afford $15 minimum wage for each of their employees I think the freedom dividend would help the vast majority of the country as well as the homeless and vets

Obviously UBI helps more people. You won’t get the $15/hr unless you work (not everyone will or is able to work) ubi is given to everyone that is a citizen regardless of employment status

What are your thoughts on why the left is against Andrew Yang. Seems like TMR and TMBS has this one problem with the FD which is the VAT. Pay roll tax is regressive but i don't hear the left crying about payroll tax. The FD would be giving most Americans 10 bucks and taking back 1 buck in order to keep funding the FD. Seems regressive to you? What are your thoughts on that and maybe a video addressing VAT vs Payroll Tax. Thanks!

A raise in minimum wage pushes the costs back onto consumers by raising the cost of all goods and services.

UBI addresses and solves far more problems than minimum wage hike.

UBI is on another level compared to that of minimum wage debate…

I think what people keep losing is that a minimum wage increase puts un-due pressure on employers to pay more while not getting anything in return. So the natural thing to do is hire less people but force them to work harder for no monetary gains. What the UBI does is it forces the major winners of our society to contribute to the society itself. Now on its face, you could say that (for example Amazon) that would drive their profitability down… HOWEVER when the money that is taken, goes into the pockets of their consumers it ends up going… Read more »

Ubi is 1000x better than giving money to tbtf banks and still going on by trump and federal reserve in bailing them out. 0% free money rates only for the rich.

Using that 50 trillion they stole from future generations for all is far far better.

All I see by denying people a better chance @ life through UBI, is those STILL in favor of keeping needy, desperate human beings needy and desperate!

UBI helps more people, obviously, because there are those who cannot work who dont qualify for SSDI or SSI because they have never worked and never paid into the system.

Companies choosing to raise wages on their own is free market.

Government telling businesses the minimum they can pay their workers regardless of experience is socialism.

UBI is really a Universal Business Income.

The wealthy and middle class will be taxed the highest and their wealth will then be redistributed to the poor who will spend that money in businesses which will just increase the wealth gap.

Wages will go down since businesses wont feel obligated to pay a fair wage to someone who is already being compensated by the government and prices will go up because so many new consummers will drive up demand for goods and services.

UBI is a Universally Bad Idea.

What about both

It doesn’t need to be one or the other. It can and should be both.

UBI has no chance unless a Bernie/Tulsi ticket takes the White House and get the influence of money out of politics – corporate PACs, oligarchs, big pharmaceuticals, health insurance companies, industrial military complex, etc. This will take 2-4 years. Only then will legislation based on major changes will happen.

They need to cut full time from 40 hrs per week to 30 per week. It increases worker productivity, improves work life balance, and deals with the raised of automated cutting labor.
