Omg, the reminder thing is so frustrating. I set individual alarms on my phone for important things, and I wish I could just do that with reminders because the alarm workaround only works if I need to do something within a week.

The worst thing happened to Blizzard was a merger with Activision… I do understand why to go to Blizzcon, unless it is a stun – yeah bring in red t-shorts! Nobody gives a shit about Cashmere or Donetsk (where is a war) why everybody in USA so desperately support Hong Kong? I am not pro- or contra-… It is not my business or yours – it’s internal Chinese conflict, which they will resolve without us. Freedom of speech is bullshit, so many riots were pushed down by force in USA or even Europe (France had many) and nobody was crying… Read more »

Intel: 4 core server CPU 3.8 GHz almost 8000€, AMD: 64 core server CPU 2 GHz <6000€

I'm a programmer and I know that replacing the search on Windows 10 with the Windows 7 one would improve it.

Back in my younger days Intel didn't drop prices. Products were just made obsolete.

It’s hilarious watching Linus literally describe Apple’s Spotlight technology that we Mac users have enjoyed for 15 years. Hopefully Windows will catch up someday. Background, Apple’s macOS has had a search service built in since 10.4 called Spotlight. It has a background daemon called mdworker (Meta Data Worker) That indexes content of all files on all attached drives and then that index can be searched by an app called Spotlight. Mac OS X 10.4 was introduced in 2003 if memory serves. Yet still Windows has nothing even close to as usable and reliable. Spotlight isn’t perfect, but every time I… Read more »

Hey, Linus, I want to meet you and slap you on slomo. Coz you're an annoying mouse of a person. Also, I can bench press you and I will prove it on video.

I don't own a "smart watch" or wearable device because of the very issues that were mentioned here. There is only one answer to the problem, and that is software development for wearable devices.

Discussing the different available domains and Linus making fun of Luke’s lack of glasses was legitimately hilarious and my favorite wan show moment in a long time, that was great.

Now I know Linux is as stupid as I thought he was, praising price hikes and overpricing.

11:52 This is EXACTLY why I stayed away from Intel when I built my first serious gaming PC in late 2002. I speced this machine with an Asus A7V8X, AMD Athlon 2200, 512MBs of Mushkin DDR, ATi Radeon 9700 Pro… I just outright avoided Intel because I would have paid $200-$300 more for a similarly speced machine with similar performance, between the increase in CPU and mobo price.. it simply didn't make sense. When I built the first Intel machine I'd built since 2000 in 2015, I only ended up with a 6600k because Intel was legitimately a better value… Read more »

About intel.. Haswell/Haswell refresh and HDMI output fails. Now multi year project get HDMI output working UNDER Windows correctly… Linux works just fine out of box. No matter what trick done.. wont recognise since i installed windows 7 fresh.. No really any engineer explaining ever why it fails. I think intel has run out people who knows what they are doing even.

This same issue with knowingly getting less with your money is happening with apple and their iPhones. iPhone 11 pro max is the same price as note 10 plus but you get 4x less storage a worse screen, no USB C and no expandable storage, worse battery life, alot slower charging

Uhh guys? You can manually turn on full (every file, every drive) search indexing, Windows 7 style, in the Windows 10 Settings menu. This makes searches instantaneous.
