NBA-China standoff intensifies over controversial tweet

The fallout between the NBA and China has intensified after Chinese organizers canceled a fan event in Shanghai just one day before an exhibition game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Los Angeles Lakers. The decision to cancel the meet and greet between players and fans came after NBA Commissioner Adam Silver defended a controversial tweet posted by the Houston Rockets’ general manager which expressed support for Hong Kong’s pro-democracy protesters. New York Times NBA Reporter Sopan Deb joined CBSN with the latest.

Today, I went to talk business with the person in charge of another company on behalf of my company. After meeting with him, I scolded his whole family directly. He was unexpectedly really angry and didn't want to talk business with me! My boss felt ridiculous. After all, my remarks only represent me, not the company. I have freedom of speech, not the It doesn't represent the company. He was even more angry, and refused to cooperate directly, and said that he did not want to cooperate with our company in the future. Alas, they are really very strange, why… Read more »

What Silver and Lebron miss is that Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela would be arm in arm with the protesters in Hong Kong

I'm sure MLK Jr. And Nelson Mandela are proud of you Lebron. You showed the content of your character. Muslims in concentration camps and killing protesters in Hong Kong. Woke is a joke and obviously a lie.

NBA stands for National Basketball Association. This is obvious. But not so obvious is why is a Basketball Association getting involved in politics and continues to play politics by demonising China, making public statements to make China look bad? Surely this is not the way to resolve the misunderstanding?

What people fail to recognize is a significant, if not vast majority, of Chinese are ultra-nationalists. People try to pretend this is all about the communist government. It's not, it is also about the ultra-nationalists.
