Good going Ontario Conservatives. Unfortunately, we now have the NDP in power here in BC so I expect the exact opposite to happen in my province.

I see a potential issue here though. When the Liberals or NDP get voted in then they will require companies to hire people from gender studies and Social justice studies. Then those programs would get artificial funding because of the ideology of the day. I think it would be best to cut all funding entirely from the government, then the courses that people want to pay to take will become the programs that will be funded. Also companies that have a need for certain kinds of workers can either fund specific workers or specific programs. I am all for people… Read more »

A lot of students don't belong in university. They go because their parents expect it but don't really have any intellectual curiosity. They treat it like high school +. It was annoying at times that they came to class, hadn't read the material, had nothing of interest to offer, and evidently didn't care at all about the subject. Dead wood even if they got decent grades.

I would like for students to know have more accurate information about the job market for their skills. I served as Chair of a Public Advisory Committee for a college program and was dismayed that there were 2-3 jobs a year for 30 graduates. I think that if students understood what their chances were of working in their chosen field they would choose differently. The colleges also do a bad job of telling students the truth about their earning potential. Fix that and students will decide the 'value' of their education for themselves — good programs with career potential will… Read more »

I know…don't spend any money at all on education…simply transfer it all directly to the corporations who's "successfully lobbied" for direct application of ideological indoctrination. Better yet, send the domestic population off to the countries where the refugees are coming from! How many psychiatric drugs is this dingbat taking!

What is a black hole?
Well it’s not very complicated. If you do not clean the kitchen sink for a few days, you can see a black hole around it’s annulus. The food 🥘 they provided for sinister computer algorithms are the only way connection you had to live in.
Now that you cannot figure coalition cleverness the only ways to make new songs are not within your reach. Where is Sarah Huckleberry? When the masters lead they’ll get the job done.
GEORGE.

The majority of current diploma holders haven't earned their degrees. Standards have slumped. Test them every five years to confirm their degree status. Just do it.

Students are going to like this. Marks will go up for sure. Pretty soon you will earn a degree with honors for good manners. Students happy schools open and the politicians will praise themselves for turning around the system. Who ever came up with this is as dumb as a bag of hammers.

Good. I think we should make it program specific. If your graduates are all baristas, you shouldn't get funding

The government will only fund these institutions if they teach the narrative they want taught regardless if true. This has bad news bears written all over it.

This is a scheme where more Ontario taxpayer money goes to fund the University of Waterloo and Queens so they can produce the next Elon Musk and future generation of engineers who will move, work and start companies in the US. They will produce economic growth and pay taxes in the US while Ontario foots the bill. Then the smaller universities and colleges like Nipissing will see their funding gutted. For the People !!!

It definitely doesn't seem like our government is putting our education first. All they see are short term dollar bills.
Even people that think they understand how to improve the future don't see far enough down the road.
