4:204:45 literally told the guy then got hostile about a mistake he made. Good job to the pilot, Mexico Approach controller could have handled it a bit better

Check out Delta 1384 out of KSMF at 1400z on Dec4. They hit a flock of birds and lost an engine.

Well, I think I will visit Mexico towards the end of my life, no need to take any risks now…

Remind me to never fly to Mexico.

I had weird feeling from the communication between Mexican ATC and AF pilots. I can tell you one thing. In my country with this selection of words and with their level of English there is no way you would pass tests to be an ATC.

Nice video but I waited for Aeromexico's incident ATC as well not just the Air France's missed approach and holding pattern.

I kept thinking "wow, they're keeping his altitude pretty high for all of this" then I remembered that Mexico City is at 7300'. That pilot needs to listen a bit more closely to the ATC information.

By the way, it was the same A380 which performed flight AF66 with the engine issue on 30th september…

I teach aviation English as an ICAO level 6 pilot and this amazing video illustrates a lot of useful things for my classes. I'd like to ask if I can use it in my aviation English classes. My students would really benefit from this video!

To all people blaming on ATC. Take aware that MMMX is one airspace very saturated with a lot of high mountains around, so if they have an closed airport they had to attend many diverts and many aircrafts. This video only includes the comms with the a380, so I think they are very patient and make 100pct sure the airfrance understand the holding pattern assigned because probably they have 20 birds in the sky at that moment

Omg! ATC is terrible! Is it so difficult to send the traffic to any published hold and let them wait over there? The nonsense on instructions is unbelievable! It looks like an exam with all those instructions lol.

And of course… the usual French-english… no way they can get rid (even a little bit) of their accent…

These Air France pilots were terrible.   1st: It says RIGHT ON THE CHART what altitudes you're supposed to fly on the ILS DME 05R approach. They are step down altitudes 9700 after Mateo and 8800 at 9.3 DME. They obviously were not reading the chart or did  not brief the approach properly.   2nd: They were unsure whether to make a left or right hand patter. Patterns are ALWAYS to the right unless told otherwise by ATC. 3rd: The controller very directly and clearly told them to HOLD on the 15 DME 340 radial from Mateo. Air France pilot  kept misunderstanding… Read more »

Francophones communicating with hispanophones using English over a fuzzy sounding radio…what could possibly go wrong?

Nice synch of FR24 with ATC audio. Would be awesome to get that working in real time as an FR24 feature.

That was painful to listen to. Has to be the worst comms I've ever heard.

Pensé que el aeropuerto de Querétaro no era lo suficientemente grande para un A-380

A simple hold instruction that took ages to be complied. Wow.
