The Boeing 787: Broken Dreams l Al Jazeera Investigations

This is a major project by the Al Jazeera Investigative Unit focusing on the 787 “Dreamliner”, the flagship passenger jet of the Boeing Company.

Our journalism reveals the deeply-held safety concerns of current and former Boeing engineers, who in some cases fear to fly on the 787, the plane they build.

We uncover allegations of on-the-job drug use, quality control problems and poor workmanship.

We explore the roots of the battery problems that led to the plane’s grounding due to safety concerns for three months from January 2013.

Why is this now coming out now? This would have saved a lot of lives and avoided the tragedy.

May be it's time for Toyota to start making planes. If they can make them like their cars. That is a sure bet.

Minute 27:27 – What a coincidence Ethiopian Airlines 737.

So you did an undercover investigation of Boeing flaunting manufacturing processes in 2014 and you unknowingly captured an Ethiopian Airlines on the assembly line

The max-8 plane is so dangerous that i would be willing to bet that the secret service wouldn't allow any of the presidents of the united states to fly on one.

i wont fly boeing after seeing this. wont trust them. i think boeing should pay a highest fine for cutting quailty and putting people at a greater risk.

So disappointed with Boeing. The company, at least originally, is the best in the world, in my opinion but these new crooks and thieves are running it like a huge money spinning machine at whatever cost. Such a shame.

The dreamliner had multiple issues, with one just catching fire while on the ground, Now we have these crashes of the 737 Max 8's. A new launched plane nose diving out of the sky is unheard of. The FAA is in Cahoots with these businesses. The FAA is to help the airlines compete just like the FDA is there to help hospitals and drug companies make money. Most academic institutions are businesses operating for grant money. Rome rotted from the inside. That fate is awaiting us.

When profit is the king then you'll loose in the end. That's the stupidity of those who're counting beans all the time.

Suprised Boeing 787 Dreamliner has some fault. Traveled twice on this model. We need further investigation on Boeing especially after the crash of Ethiopian Airlines flight ET302 on 10th March 2019. i guess the Boeing 737 Max model has manufacturer problem. Planes dont just fall from the sky

Quality and safety go hand in hand, if Boeing are compromising on the quality be prepared for more plane crashes.

And now I return to this on March 13th, 2019 after the fatal accidents of two, revolunary best selling aircraft from Boeing. What else is there to say really. Aljazeera, I think it's time for a part two, the 737 Minimum Requirements.

This story reminds me of Trump’s presidency. So many people are giving warnings. And no one is listening. Lies, lies, and more lies. Yet we all just ignore it and forget about it. All while the corruption continues. The deception continues and companies kept buying these planes and uninformed passengers kept riding them. Trusting in a scam. In this case hundreds have died in both Ethiopia and Indonesia.

There has been a few examples in which executives and engineers are at odds and almost seem to live in different worlds.
The first driven by profit and corporate bullshit the latter driven by science and bound by the laws of physics…
One of them was Nasa and the space shuttle Challenger and we all know what happened there…
The difference is that there are a LOT more Boeing aircraft flying around and a lot of them build the same way the dreamliner was built

If only Al Jazeera could like Boeing as much as it likes Samir Kuntar and hating Jews… Then they wouldn't need to add the cliche horror music in the background
