I very much needed this, I'm a homeschool mom of 4 and even after 1 day of trying this I can see a positive difference in my kids…thanks so I much for sharing

Thank you for this. My daughter just turned two. I've been finding myself yelling more because she doesn't listen. It's very frustrating. I don't want to yell but in the moment it happens and then I'm so mad at myself afterwards. This will help me be more intentional in the way I respond to her. ♥️♥️♥️

I needed this today. I am struggling with depression and bad mood throughout my second pregnancy and finding I'm not handing the two year old tantrums and boundary pushing as well as I did before I was pregnant. Feel like a horrendous mum, just need to take a breather and try to take these tips. Thank you

Should have watched this before taking the kids to bed tonight… 😥
How do you stay calm when your kids won't stop crying and screaming and yelling and don't hear what you're saying? I struggle a lot with that…. because I can't go out (my daughter will follow me anyway) and she won't let me help her calm down either 🤷‍♀️

Needed to hear this, Ashleigh! “You can scream at your kids without ever raising your voice” Wow!
Calm and peaceful are words that I would LOVE to portray our family and household. ❤️ I considered “pause” as my word for 2020…it’s such a good reminder!

Thank you Ashleigh for this very timely video! My 2020 word is INTENTIONAL and part of that goal is bei g much more intentional with my parenting and investing in it. I have been researching positive/gentle parenting tips and techniques but so far this is the BEST I've heard so far! I am working my way through your positive parenting playlist but am also being more intentional with my screen time too! ❤ Thank you again!

Thank you so much for this. I dont have children. But i am triggered by heaps of general life events and i escalate so fast and ruin relationships or act like a toddler rather than an adult. There are complex reasons that i have these issues. But other people are not protected from the results of my behaviour just because Im still working on healing from my past and learning to lengthen the gap between the trigger and my reaction and make the reaction a more calmer response. So your advice is even really helpful for me without the particular… Read more »

The house being chaotic and messy is one of my stressors! But I’ve been saying “connection over cleaning” to myself as just something that I came up with to help myself be more focused on loving them than a perfect house…still struggle daily but I’m trying!
The thing that i have a harder time with is when the kids are physically hurting one another, like how do you pause in that moment?? 🤦🏼‍♀️🤪

Thank you for this. I struggle when I'm tired or in pain. Have been in chronic pain a lot in the last 6 years and I can really mess up on a flare up day. 😔 praying to God for help with this. He's brought me a long way but I gotta get this even better for my kiddos.

I LOVED what you said at the end. Yes! I very much realized after my oldest became a toddler that children are a mirror for ALL my weaknesses and insecurities. And your right that's a blessing 🙌

Could you please make a video on children listening? My 6 year old son is an amazing listener but my 7 year old daughter is an amazing ignorer lol she just flat out ignores anyone who talks to her. Parents, grandparents, friends, her brother. I’ve tried so many things and I just can’t figure out how to get through to her. I’ve been a yeller and I’m working so hard on that but I’m kinda getting scared that I’ve permanently ruined her to only listen when someone is yelling at her. As a former yeller I would love your advice… Read more »

I'm not a mom but I love this video so much! As someone who was raised with an extremely reactive mom, this is really encouraging and helpful for when I have my own kids one day. I also have a sister that's 8 years younger than me & she is very different from the rest of our family & much more openly emotional than any of us ever were/are. So I used to get frustrated with her & yell at her when she'd cry about any little thing. But through my own schooling & videos like these, I've learned better… Read more »

I need this so badly. I came from a home of "yellers" and "screamers." I vowed I would never do "that" when I had kids. Weeeellll…guess what? I'm not too proud of my responses. I need to pause. Thank you so much. I ordered the book just now. God bless. This is a great video. So needed. <3 thank you for your honesty.

Thank you for this!!!! I’m trying to work on my responses to my 3 kiddos……my parents died when I was only 2. I was raised by my grandparents, one of whom was and still is very mentally disturbed. Unfortunately, it has done me a lot of harm. I find myself having responses like hers as I get older. I need to break this cycle…….I feel like I would be different if I was raised in a gentle, loving, Christian home.

I just got mine in the mail from amazon today after your last video that mentioned it. I want to get the screamfree marriage one as well. I think it is so important to have a patient, understanding relationship with you partner as well as kids and thats my main goal this year- working on being my best self as a wife and mom.

Thank you, this is helpful! I have been working on this but felt the need to respond calmly immediately. Having permission to leave the room and take time to think it through makes all the difference.

You nailed it again. Seriously I had my third baby last year and I had my angriest year to date. I have a new 5 yr old boy, 3 yr old boy and newish baby girl (my vba2c 💁🏻 just random FYI). I seriously need to just listen to this video everyday this week. Thank you for sharing your journey. You are officially my fave YouTuber and I am so glad you said yes to God to make videos!!

My trigger is my daughter being mean. I truly dont know how to handle it. She hits kicks bites pinches or is just mean for no reason. She is this way for no reason. I have tried everything and i am lost on what to do.

Thank you sooooooooo much! This is incredibly ridiculously fantastic 😁😆🙌
When you gave that mess example and did the scream response example, my 4 year old said: "Mom why is she so rude?" So yup that is how they perceive it when we respond with screaming.. this mama has some work to do in my own heart!

THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH for sharing this! It was extremely helpful, such great advice delivered gracefully and without judgement. You are a natural encourager (if that's a word). Ps it was not long winded at all, I was looking up at the end of the video saying, 'hey that's it?'

Woah Mama!! I REALLY needed to hear this today. I've struggled with this for years. We have 5 children ages 1-10. I've been praying for peace and wisdom in this area. I love the scripture prov 12:20 "those who promote peace have joy" I want to have a home filled with peace 🥰 Thank you for sharing.
