WHAT I LEARNED TRAVELING XINJIANG CHINA + SUMMARY OF MY EXPERIENCE

You might have seen articles about China putting its Muslims in camps. If you read one, you know what’s happening to the Uighur people of Xinjiang Autonomous Region. Or do you?

Pretty sure I managed to make a video that pisses off both China and the U.S. with all this tea spilt PLUS it’s the most entertaining and juicy a history lesson is gonna get, so HOLD ON TIGHT.

Also I got stalked twice in Xinjiang and slept in a random old man’s house at one point. Stick around until the end for that story.

thx for sharing this video, i totally agreed with what u said at last. The riots happened in Xinjiang used to be really big. It is one of the reason why government has such a strict rule. I m not going to say they did 100% right, but they do protect people in Xinjiang. Also thx for introducing the whole history of Xinjiang. When i study abroad in the US, one of my classmates thought Tibet is colonized by CN, and made a "free Tibet" speech in the class. I didnt blame him, cos that was what the western social… Read more »

Thank you so much for this video! I was looking for an informative and more kind of neutral video about Xinjiang for so long. The combination of you knowing a lot about the Chinese history and you having been there yourself made it especially unique and useful. 🙂

There is no justification whatsoever regardless of context to terrorise and punish the Uighur people in such an inhumane and brutal way. Splitting apart families, mothers from their children, forcing them into atheism and denial of their religious identy is the most cruelest of crimes happening in the 21st century. There is no balanced view when it comes to Xinjiang or East Turkestan. Any terrorist committing acts of terrorism should be jailed. However, the idea of collective punishment and guilt by association is a very medieval one, which has no place in the 21st century. China have misunderstood Orwell's 1984… Read more »

That's because the CIA have been messing about in the region. Some years ago they caught CIA and executed them – lol

Only independent investigators are able to find the fact about Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. Current situation of Xinjiang deserves seriousness NOT a comedic talk like this. A person reads a little bit history (only single version is allowed) and spends without having a true interaction with local people and thinks everything it said is just balanced. The "reeducation camp" and the mass numbers of Uyghur prisoners are the focus when we talk about Xinjiang – NOT the history that "Xinjiang has ever been part of Middle Kingdom". What did you find on the "camps" or "adult boarding schools"? Can you… Read more »

Michelle, Chinese are happy with the government because they have no one interned at the camps, you will have a second though when you have your relative or loved one taken away and disappeared, You seem to have mentioned a single word about massive concentration camps China built to brainwash and torture minority people in your video, looks like you approve or simply look away about the minority’s side of story, I have been to the region myself in 2017 and saw completely different Xinjiang, when I was people are afraid about leaving their home even some few hundred yards,… Read more »

You looks might have helped you in China as well. In general you have very little understanding of feelings of Uyghur people.

I am really sorry if this video upset you, and I thank the people who have commented and helped me realize what I could have improved on. I fully recognize all the horrible abuses happening in the region, but I didn't feel knowledgeable enough to speak on it, so I talked about media bias which I did learn. I see now that makes it seem I am denying what's happening which was the last thing I want. Please read the comments and replies below before you add to them!

4000 RMB for a young guy is actually a pretty decent salary in Xinjiang. That income would roughly be equivalent to 6000-7000 RMB in a first tier city, which is roughly how much a university fresh graduate earns.

I finished watching your video but can you please refrain from adding the extraness to your video? It really made it difficult to watch. Reminds me of kids who say "finna" for no damn reason other than to be cool.

The west media are not trusted by Chinese government because most of them have propaganda agendas. Tourism OK, but propaganda journalism?get out of China. China can't beat the west in media dominance, so China just shut them out of the door.
You are followed probably because they thought you are a journalist hired by some west media.

Thanks for the video. It's really hard to get a balanced view of Xinjiang from the mainstream media so i have to treat all of their reporting with skepticism.

你不知道自己在说什么。集中营里有很多证人跑到哈萨克斯坦了,有很多证人都证实有大量侵犯人权的事件,包括轮奸,灌药。我发现美国长大的华人挺喜欢ccp的。
