What would it be like for an American to retire in Russia? Like healthcare and cost of living? Say a lot of Americans get around $2,500 a month. Thanks in advance.

There is an indicator that measures the degree of income inequality in countries. As a rule the greater this indicator the greater the social problems. The US is a wealthy country but the wealth disparity has grown a lot in the past 40years. Of the so called wealthy countries the US is now the most unequal. It is a pity the Russians looked to the US academics to guide its economy after the breakup of the Soviet Union. Introducing a free market economy into a country without a decent legal system was crazy. Even in the US the free market… Read more »

Russians can get rid of their oppressive elitist government. That might help. And actually for those complaining about the cost of housing or apartments in the US. Remember that that’s usually in states run by state governments that have more in common with the Russian style of government. Leftist democrat part run states are very expensive and have lots of their citizens leaving for better pastures as well. Go ahead and DENY it as you struggle to pay your bills. 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑

Because they are lazy a-holes? Moscow has no metro? Let's move to London. Russia has no factories? Let's move to US. Why bother yourself, if you can just move. Russia is an empty word for most russian youngsters nowdays

Enjoyed the video!
I have to agree with the comment from the Netherlands.
I live in Canada 🇨🇦 . We do have better wages ,but taxes are high.
We do have a great standard of living, and I appreciate what we have. It does come at a cost to the citizen in taxes. We have seniors where their pensions are barely making ends meet, The cost of living is growing faster than what salaries can meet.
I am sure most will agree that our seniors should be appreciated and taken care of. We will all be there one day. !😃
Cheers.

This is focused on the poorest Russians. I have been there Russians enjoy more luxuries than many in the west.
Russians are rich.

The same is true in the US. But no Public Healthcare. Half the people have nothing saved for retirement. Both parents work to support the family. It didn't used to be like that in the fifties and sixties. The destruction of the family… The Globalist Elite gradually took control of the politicians. Now they own 97% of the wealth. There are two classes. The people who don't realize they are slaves, and the super rich….

In spite of all this, Putin seemingly remains popular. Though I have to say that when I see your videos, Russia looks prosperous. People are nicely dressed, they pursue leisure activities, restaurants are full, and the streets are crowded with cars, etc. I'm a pretty hard-core right-wing American but it looks to me like Russia has come a VERY long way since the end of communism.

Our thoughts is that your comparisons are full of shit – distorted, biased and lacking any logic. Comparing just salaries or pensions in US dollars has no sense whatsoever. What about the cost of living? Are you familiar with the notion of Purchasing Power Parity? What about income tax which is only 13% in Russia (pension is not taxed)? why don’t you compare the cost of education and healthcare in Russia and US?What about housing? How many people in the west own (not rent!) apartments and country houses which is so common in Russia? What’s the number of homeless, for… Read more »

I think Russian food and labor must be cheaper than the US. Like we would have to pay a mechanic averagely $120/hr to fix our car, the Russian might pay just $12/hr for their mechanic? If anyone in the US makes only $300/month, then that person will definitely be starved and homeless…unless they have no rent to pay.

I notice in Asia and other regions around the world that lack the pension completely rely on their children to look after them. Is this not also the case in western countries like Russia with a low pension?

Americans are financed into debt, willingly. It would be nice for companies to stop sending us new cars! We don't need all the crap "keeping our economy afloat" from China. Granted 250./mo is hard to live on anywhere in the world but seriously, most Russians need to move to Moscow and force the government to deal with joblessness, low paying wages all over Russia. And to stop selling off their kids to model agencies and other. Anyway, I gotta kid who went to college in NYC, got an art degree and now she is 100K in debt and realizing her… Read more »

the way out are deep institutional reforms, elimination of corruption with an increase in economic transparency. once the waste and disparities are eliminated, Russians would stop leaving the country and the new wave of innovations would pick up the lingering slack in the markets. Russia has always had the potential to stand out on the global arena and it certainly has what it takes to get there, both culturally and technologically but not with the same iron fist of its centrally controlled corruptible governance.

The United States fee for renouncing ones U. S. citizenship went from $450 to $2350 to offset the number of people from renouncing their U. S. Citizenship. If you claim that the United States offers better opportunity then why did the U. S. raise fees? The Americans you see going abroad are ones that have money. Not every single American can afford to travel when they retire. Prices in America have skyrocket. Apartments, Medical Cost, Grocery, utilities. Also you talk about your relatives but never helped them out by showing them to invest in stock market or come up with… Read more »

What would be of Russia’s development path without western sanctions and all the political turmoil against your country. It’s actually amazing how good Russia’s economy has been recovering after foreign sanctions and turbulent past events after soviet unions‘ colapse.
