For a foreigner, March 8 in Russia looks like men are anxiously trying to make up for everything they did or didn’t do: they pamper their ladies, buy a TON of flowers, and, in general, make it a very special occasion. How did that happen in a country that was so proud of having feminists and working women in the XX century? Today we dive deep into Soviet history to try and explain how March 8 even became a holiday.
